200gsm Flame Retardant White Tarpaulins are heavy-duty polyethylene covers designed to provide reliable protection from rain, dirt and the elements, while offering the added benefit of flame-retardant properties. Particularly suited to building and construction applications, these tarpaulins are also suitable for a variety of commercial, recreational, domestic and outdoor uses where additional flame resistance is required.

Flame Retardant Protection

These 200gsm tarpaulins are certified to Californian Standard CPAI 84 Section 6, providing reassurance where flame-retardant materials are required. Each tarpaulin is supplied with a flame-retardancy certificate stitched onto the cover, allowing the specification of the product to be clearly identified.

The flame-retardant properties make these tarpaulins particularly useful for construction sites, temporary structures and other applications where the potential exposure to sparks, heat or ignition sources needs to be considered. As with all flame-retardant materials, they should not be considered fireproof and should be kept away from direct flames and sources of extreme heat.

Versatile Protection for Construction and Outdoor Applications

200gsm Flame Retardant White Tarpaulins are particularly suited to building and construction work, where they can be used to provide temporary protection for materials, equipment and exposed areas. The white finish also makes them suitable for applications where a lighter-coloured covering is preferred.

Other common uses include:

    • Covering materials, equipment and work areas during construction, renovation and maintenance projects.
    • Providing temporary protection for exposed areas and materials during roofing work.
    • Creating a practical covering where flame-retardant sheeting is required such as on scaffolding or at events.
    • Protecting machinery, equipment and stored materials from rain and general outdoor exposure.
    • Covering furniture, equipment, materials and other outdoor items.
    • Camping and recreational activities where a flame-retardant tarpaulin is preferred.

Durable 200gsm Flame Retardant Tarpaulins

Made from heavy-duty polyethylene with a tough 14 x 14 woven construction, these tarpaulins are designed for demanding applications. The material is waterproof, rotproof and shrinkproof, helping to provide dependable protection during outdoor use and changing weather conditions.

The 200gsm weight provides a substantial and durable covering while remaining practical to handle and install. The white polyethylene construction provides a clean, highly visible finish, making covered areas and materials easy to identify.

Secure Fixing and Reinforced Corners

The tarpaulin features aluminium eyelets around all four sides at 50cm intervals, providing plenty of secure fixing points for tying down the cover. The closer eyelet spacing allows tension to be distributed more evenly across the tarpaulin, helping to reduce stress on individual fixing points.

Sturdy reinforced corners provide additional strength in areas where the tarpaulin is likely to experience greater tension during installation and use. For the best results and maximum lifespan, we recommend securing the tarpaulin using flexible bungee products rather than rigid fixings such as cable ties or metal hooks.

Finished to Size

Our FR tarpaulins are produced to finished size. While there can be a slight manufacturing tolerance, we would not expect this to exceed 5cm.

If you're not sure what size to go for, check out our size guide for more information.

Securing Your Tarpaulin

To get the maximum lifespan from your tarpaulin, it is important to secure it correctly. We always recommend using bungee products to secure our tarpaulins. We do not recommend using rigid fixings, such as cable ties or metal hooks, as these can place excessive strain on individual eyelets. To ensure the load is distributed evenly and to minimise stress on the tarpaulin, we recommend using all available eyelets when securing the cover.
