A Different Use for Canvas Dust Sheets

The majority of our dust sheets are purchased for use in traditional applications, such as DIY and decorating jobs. As such, we supply a wide range of dust sheets from the standard cotton twill sheet up to the heavyweight cotton canvas range. Made from a 10oz unproofed cotton canvas, these 9ft x 12ft sheets weigh in at a hefty 3.5kgs each, and are the professional's choice for a dust sheet due to their very tight weave.

Occasionally customers come to us looking to put dust sheets to a less traditional application, and we were recently made aware of just how versatile the cotton canvas dust sheet is.

One customer, Michael Nicholas, purchased some of our Cotton Canvas dust sheets in order to create a gazebo canopy in his garden. Having erected the wooden frame, Mr Nicholas treated the dust sheets with a proofing product called Fabsil, to make the sheets water-resistant and thus better suited for outside use. The heavyweight dust sheets were then used to clad the frame, forming an attractive canopy for shelter and shade. At just a fraction of the cost of having a canopy specially made, Mr Nicholas created this fantastic and attractive structure!

10oz unproofed cotton canvas is also available as a roll, size 1.8m x 24m.
